I enjoyed this project. I have to admit that I rushed it as I wanted to have it finished by the time Federica came back from Paris and it is my first “offical” upcycle project. I am not sure if it counts as “Upcycling” as I basically ripped apart a broken beach wardrobe and put it all back together in a different design.
The idea of the design is stolen of a picture I saw online (somewhere?) but I adapted it to fit our space and needs.
As soon as Fede saw the desk she posted it on Facebook. I had an order for another by the end of the day. It was pretty cheap to make
- An old solid wood wardrobe
- Sandpaper and assorted fittings
- Elbow grease
- £10,000 of wood working equipment (Luckily I had the use of London Sculpture Workshop)
It works quiet well as it leans against the wall. its weight keeps it stable. I know I should have “before and after” photos but i didnt expect to be this pleased with it!
I have a few other projects in mind so I should post them up if anyone feigns interest.
